EOY Technology Questions
Hello families.
As we get closer to the end of the year, I wanted to update you on some of our summer procedures.
- There are a number of loaner Chromebooks that were not returned this year. Could you please look around your child's rooms for any of these devices?
- Unless otherwise mentioned below, students should take their devices home over the summer. If a device needs repair, please follow the school's repair procedures so we can address it over the summer.
Chromebook collection for students graduating or leaving the district.
- On June 3rd, Seniors will return their Chromebooks during the Senior Signout event. Seniors will not receive a cap and gown unless all school-issued equipment has been returned and all outstanding invoices have been paid.
- On Friday, June 5th, 8th-grade students who are attending a private school, BVT, or any other non-Millbury school in the fall will meet with Technological Services to discuss the collection process.
- On June 11th or 12th, 6th-grade students will turn in their Shaw devices fr a JSHS device. This will be done during the day.
- On Monday, June 15th, at the JSHS, students transferring to BVT or other schools over the summer will have their devices collected.
Students are expected to turn in a charger and their assigned device with an expected amount of wear and tear. Devices with damage that is not typical or is categorized as intentional will need to be covered by families before the end of the school year. We will use ParentSquare Pay to provide families with an easy-to-access platform to make these payments. You can reach out to your school's administration if you have questions regarding an invoice. The three most typical reasons for a family invoice are: intentional keyboard damage, lost charger, and a lost Chromebook.
There are families that still have open invoices from earlier in the year, when we moved to our new ParentSquare Pay system. I have sent reminder messages to these families, and all invoices generated this year must be paid by the last day of school.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing summer vacation.
