- Take the PSAT in October
- Continue taking challenging classes
- Do your best academically so you can maintain a strong GPA
- Discuss with your parents how you will finance your education
- Start thinking about whom you might ask to write your letters of recommendation
- Attend college fairs, college tours, browse college guidebooks, and attend college visits offered through MHS. Ask questions!
- Take the SAT or ACT in the Spring
- Review the Program of Studies in the spring and select courses which best suit you and your career goals
- Meet with your guidance counselor to discuss preliminary plans for applying to college & financial aid
- Continue to work, volunteer, or attend summer programs
SAT PREP CLASSES @SHREWSBURY HIGH
Shrewsbury High School has opened registration for its Fall SAT Prep Course. The course will begin the week of October 21st and run through the week of December 9th. Classes will meet remotely from 5:30PM-7:40PM for a total of seven Monday night sessions. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. The course is open to juniors and seniors. To reserve a spot, students need to return the completed application form and payment to Jen Lundsten - Administrative Assistant @ Shrewsbury High School jalundsten@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us, 508-841-8810

GWCF's Youth for Community Improvement- Deadline to apply is May 15, 2023
YCI will meet every Wednesday from 4-7pm at the GWCF office for 12 weeks from September-December, and there will be 2 orientation days during the Summer as determined by the group’s schedules.

Youth for Community Improvement
Youth for Community Improvement (YCI) promotes civic leadership through a 12 week teen led experience resulting in grants to local nonprofits working in areas of high importance to young people.
Scholarships for $10,000 and $25,000 For Massachusetts High School Juniors!
The application is OPEN December 1, 2023, to March 15, 2024.
The Horatio Alger Association seeks to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students who have demonstrated
integrity & determination in
overcoming adversity, academic potential,
the personal aspiration to make a
unique contribution to society, strength of character and financial need.
The Association awards 2 National Scholarships for $25,000 and 10 State Scholarships for $10,000 for the state of Massachusetts.
Key criteria for qualification:
- Enrolled as a full-time high school junior
- Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- At least a 2.0 GPA
- Be a United States Citizen
